BARTLETT COMMUNITY CONCERT BAND
The Bartlett Community Concert Band was founded in 1991. We are a dynamic
musical organization dedicated to performing the best in concert band music for personal
enjoyment and entertainment for the citizens of Bartlett and the surrounding area. Our
volunteer musicians come from all walks of life. The musicians consist of teachers,
businessmen and women, professionals in medicine and law, busy full-time homemakers,
community leaders, retirees, and middle and high school students. There are no auditions
held to join the band. You do not have to live in Bartlett to be a member. Our members
come from Bartlett, Memphis, Germantown, Millington, and all areas of Shelby County,
Arkansas, and Mississippi.
The Bartlett Community Concert Band would like to invite students and adults to come
play in our band. Joining our band will give you a chance to play a wide variety of
music. The band plays several formal concerts a year which consist of band classics,
mid-summer concerts that center around patriotic music and marches, and other concerts
consisting of show tunes, pop music, and classical music. Our primary goal is to have
fun making great music.
Our organization has a formal structure to manage our affairs. We have a nine-member
board that determines policy and procedures and develops and plans our concerts.
Our conductor is Rhendle Millen, DMA. He is the head of the Department of Fine Arts
and Director and Teacher of Instrumental Music at Saint Mary's Episcopal School.
Rehearsals are held on Mondays at Whitten Memorial Baptist Church located at 6773
Macon Road from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.
The band is available to play at private parties and businesses for a low fee. For
